- Federal Depository Library Program
http://www.fdlp.gov/
The FDLP Desktop is targeted to documents librarians and staff of the more
than 1,300 libraries that compromise the Federal Depository Library Program.
Although the site is open to the public, it is really an "Intranet
on the Web" and offers a limited amount of material that might be of
general interest.
- Item Lister
http://www.gpo.gov/su_docs/fdlp/tools/itemlist.html
Item Lister currently reflects the selection information in the GPO Depository
Distribution Information System (DDIS). Item Lister is updated weekly.
- FDLP Basic Collection
http://www.fdlp.gov/basicollection
The list of titles constituting the Basic Collection was developed in 1977
to identify the most basic Federal Documents for inclusion in depository
collections. These documents are vital sources of information that support
the public's right to know about the workings and essential activities of
their Federal Government. All depositories are expected to have the titles
in the Basic Collections accessible to their patrons.

this page simply close new window.
Documents Data Miner 2 is a library management system for U.S. government
documents. A web-based data warehousing and data mining tool, DDM2 assists
depository libraries in processing, cataloging, and bibliographic control
of federal documents. In addition, DDM2 contains a pilot module for a public
access catalog which can be set to a depository's name and profile.
- Documents Center
(a site created and maintained by University of Michigan Government Documents
Staff)
http://www.lib.umich.edu/government-documents-center/explore/
The Documents Center is a central reference and referral point for government
information, whether local, state, federal, foreign or international. Its
web pages are a reference and instructional tool for government, political
science, statistical data, and news.
- GODORT Toolbox
(a site created and maintained by ALA's Government Documents Roundtable)
http://www2.lib.udel.edu/godort/cataloging/toolbox.htm
These tools are of use to personnel who process and catalog materials distributed
through the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) which is administered
by the U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO). Many are available at no charge
via the Internet. GPO Staff members catalog and index United States federal
government publications, creating or adapting most of the USMARC records
used by FDLP library participants. This Toolbox brings together tools and
guides for both new and experienced library staff who process and catalog
depository materials.
- GODORT Handout Exchange
(a site created and maintained by ALA's Government Documents Roundtable)
http://wikis.ala.org/godort/index.php/Exchange
The Handout Exchange is project of the Government Documents Round Table
(GODORT) of the American Library Association (ALA). The exchange is a collection
of guides to government information sources written by library staff across
the country and distributed by the GODORT'S Education Committee. The guides
are arranged by broad subject classification. Each is identified with a
brief title, author, library affiliation, and date of GODORT distribution
(rather than date of publication).
