The Penguin Players Proudly Present Otis

THREE shows!
Tuesday, May 15: 10:30 am at the Eastgate Branch
2:30 pm at the Northgate Branch
Wednesday, May 16: 10:30 am at the Downtown Library

Presented by The Penguin Players from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Playhouse, the 20-minute performance is an adaptation of “Otis,” written and illustrated by Loren Long.

The performance tells a poignant story of friendship and perseverance. Otis, a loving, hard working and playful tractor gets replaced by a new big yellow tractor, and is put behind the barn to rust. But when his best friend, a little calf, gets stuck in Mud Pond, Otis saves the day and his best friend.

Teen Advisory Board Members Needed

TAB members advise library staff about teen programming, promote library events, plan activities for the teen center and much more.  Membership is open for students ages 12 – 18. Regularly scheduled meetings are generally held one Saturday a month at the Downtown Library.   In addition, TAB members are invited to participate in all teen events.

Some past TAB activities have included the making of the video Teens Take Over the Library (now available on You Tube at http://www.youtube.com/libraryChattanooga), aiding at a Shakespeare workshop and volunteering at a Senior Gaming Tournament.  In addition, the committee members have helped design a tapestry for the teen center, made banners for the Children’s and Teen Summer Reading Programs and planned activities for the Teen Wrap Party.

For more information, contact Della Phipps at phipps_d@lib.chattanooga.gov or 643-7700.
